My Memorable Wedding & Year 2010

I think I will write about my wedding as my last post for Year 2010 rather than talking about a new resolution. FYI, I never achieve my 2 goals for 2010 which is to learn Japanese language and adobe photoshop :) hehe...

I just went back from another wedding reception at the Bride's side yesterday and it was actually fun and exciting. I believe it will be more fun if I don't have sore throat. Because of that, I cannot sing at all.. I enjoyed the dance as well though as the crowd were different compare to the other reception held at Le Meridien Hotel.

I am happy because everything went well. Thanks to God for the good weather, for making the preparation went smooth without rushing here and there. The wedding was simple. It was not the perfect one, but we did our best out of it. We enjoyed every moment of it from the pre-wedding photoshoot until the final reception. Some things happened out of our expectation, but it looked good in the end.

I am now a happy married guy. I will continue giving thanks to God for giving me more than what I asked. I think it is a good ending for year 2010. Not forgetting to all my family, relatives and friend who help to make this wedding a most memorable wedding for both of us. We love you all :)

As we are still in year 2010, me and my wife, Cecilia want to take this time to wish you all a Happy New Year 2011!

Invitation Card

When I was in KK last month, my fiancee and I visited one of the wedding shop in 1B. We want to have a look on some wedding invitation card to get some idea about designing our own. Out of many designs, we were attracted with one of the magazine-style kind of card. For us, it looks different and contemporary. So we decided to use that template and provide them with all the necessary info and material to start the designing.

One week later, they sent me their design concept. I was quite happy with it, but the more I look on it, I had a feeling that something is not right. First, they totally follow the original template, which is not suitable with the mood we are expecting to reflect from our pictures. Secondly, the choice of fonts is not contemporary :).... its kinda boring with all those flowerly thingy...not to mentioned the invitation style...ahh, they just following what they have in their catalogue.

So, I decided to make revision. I designed my own card in the excel file, and asked them to follow strictly... It took me 2 days to design it, and its definitely much better. I changed the pictures arrangement, I changed the invitation wordings and also the choice of font. After that I sent the second rev. to them to follow.

I received the second revision today. And to my disappointment, they failed to follow many important details that I asked them to follow. I start to feel uneasy. Why they take it easy? Probably they didnt meant too, but I just cannot help from thinking about how unprofessional they are in the job that the should be very well known of. I cant do anything, as I already paid my deposit.... So I make my third revision.

Hope they can make it right this time and luckily I still have plenty of time to go.

One of the many things I hate about bridal shop or wedding shop is that they are very reluctant about giving softcopy. I dont know why, probably they afraid ppl use their masterpiece and claimed it as their own... or maybe, since the existance of Facebook, they take this advantage to make more money. Even the softcopy of my invitation card is being watermark. Anyhow, I will make sure I get the high resolution complete softcopy of this later, since I am the one who design most of it. The idea is mine, they only put it on their template so they can print it out.

Hopefully they are aware of it. Its give and take policy maa.... U give me softcopy, u can take my design and use for ur business purpose... if you ever want to use it lah... kami taulah muka kami ni teda nilai nilai komersil....

Food Tasting at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu

I had done my food tasting today at Le Meridien Hotel, KK. I would say, I like the overall menu except for one vege dish which we decided to change to another menu because we felt that the taste was not that nice. All in all, we are satisfied the way it is carried out and presented.

Apart from the food tasting, our efficient and friendly wedding planner Jacqueline, went through with all the important lists and progress we are standing at the moment. She demonstrated us with her collection of theme color. Some of the color combination are really interesting. We get a clear idea of how the hall is going to be decorated, the arrangment of tables, stage, LCD etc.

I asked her opinion about how CONTEMPORARY Theme is all about. In her quick response, she said it has not been done before and explained the decoration right away. I was kind of like the idea though, because it is more simple, more flexibility and versatility. So, I asked her to prepare the deco according to the contemporary concept.

I think we have done most of the difficult things for our wedding preparation. We have done with the documentation as well as the pre-nuptial interview conducted by the Priest who will be presiding the wedding ceremony. We have done with the invitation card, hotel arrangement and 50% of the photoshoot. Hopefully I am right about this. If I am right, I can avoid all the hassles which caused chaos to many ppl.
