The Selfishness.

In Singapore, train is the main transportation other than bus and taxi. Anyhow due to the high-dense population, it is very rare to find an empty seat inside the train unless you board at the first station. It happened to me yesterday, after done my work out in Chevron House I was thinking about how to get a seat since it takes about 45 minutes for me to reach my destination. I just feel too tired and I don't think I want to stand along the way.

So, I decided to go to the last station, which is just one station away so I can grab my seat first. I am so relieved when everybody alighted at the last station. There were so many seats to be chosen and I was thinking which seat to be taken. Usually the first seat which is nearer to the exit/entrance is reserved for the needy (the elderly, pregnant women, adults with kids etc). I was thinking that if I choose those seats, I will have to give them up to these  peoples when they come in.

So, I chose the middle one which is further from the exit/entrance because for what so ever reason, I don't want to give up my seat. Anyhow, It is still a norm for the people here to give their seat if the reserved one is fully occupied, especially to the elderly. Due to this, I closed my eyes and listen to my music because I don't want to see anyone who potentially needs the seat and have the guilt of not giving my seat to them.

As expected, the train is really packed along the way but I got to sit for the whole journey. Am I being selfish here? :).... I believed so. I feel bad.... and to make myself feel better I came up with my own reasoning;

" Everyone is well aware of the situation here and should expect the least to get any seat while boarding the train"

I believe everybody can understand why they have to stand in the train and it requires some extra effort to get a seat... as an example, go the the first station and the journey is all yours. :) hehehe

Hey You

I don't understand why some people feels great in proving himself right by looking for others mistakes or weaknesses. Don't they have something better to be proud of? something which is genuinely from their own effort, talent, achievement, character etc??? hehe..

They might feel great about their own world, unfortunately they gain no respect from anybody. Hey you out there.... stop pretending to be smart. No matter how hard you try, you will only make yourself look ugly. Just be yourself, admit your own mistakes so you can improve.

Oh, some people even had gone too far. They wont let you to teach them and rather asking you to stop. Face your own fear, gringo :) The Fear of being defeated. Losers are much better that someone who fear to lose.

KL Marathon Run

Its been 4 days since the last time I hit the gym. Well, I purposely did that because I want to be prepared for my KL Marathon run which will be tomorrow. I've got my race pack and seems everything is fine with it. I've decided that for this time, I will run for the half category only . The distance is about 21 Km and my target finishing time is 2 Hours. I am not sure whether I can make it, but I will try. It simply means that I have to run 10km/hr consistently to achieve that target. Its kinda difficult, but it a challenge right?

I guess my girlfriend (or fiancee.. hehe) is waiting at the airport now boarding to KL. I am gonna pick her up at the LCCT  later on. Ooo gosh, I just received her sms telling me that her flight is delayed for 50 mins.... Airasia! Airasia!...... why lah u like this! Sigh, just forget abt that.

BTW, she will be running the same category with me. I dunno who gonna get to the finishing line first. I would like to assume that its me... but I cannot under estimate her capability.... she could do better than me. Who knows, my stamina deteriorate :)

Tomorrow, right after the marathon, we gonna look for our wedding ring. I don't understand actually how a guy in most of the tv or movie show can simply propose to his partner kneeling with a ring with him saying "Will you marry me?" How he knows the size?  Last time, I just said " Nnt bulan 12 kita tunang, pastu 1 taun lagi kita kawin k?" hehehe..... Nvm, every people has their own unique way of proposing bah gia....

Invitation Card

When I was in KK last month, my fiancee and I visited one of the wedding shop in 1B. We want to have a look on some wedding invitation card to get some idea about designing our own. Out of many designs, we were attracted with one of the magazine-style kind of card. For us, it looks different and contemporary. So we decided to use that template and provide them with all the necessary info and material to start the designing.

One week later, they sent me their design concept. I was quite happy with it, but the more I look on it, I had a feeling that something is not right. First, they totally follow the original template, which is not suitable with the mood we are expecting to reflect from our pictures. Secondly, the choice of fonts is not contemporary :).... its kinda boring with all those flowerly thingy...not to mentioned the invitation style...ahh, they just following what they have in their catalogue.

So, I decided to make revision. I designed my own card in the excel file, and asked them to follow strictly... It took me 2 days to design it, and its definitely much better. I changed the pictures arrangement, I changed the invitation wordings and also the choice of font. After that I sent the second rev. to them to follow.

I received the second revision today. And to my disappointment, they failed to follow many important details that I asked them to follow. I start to feel uneasy. Why they take it easy? Probably they didnt meant too, but I just cannot help from thinking about how unprofessional they are in the job that the should be very well known of. I cant do anything, as I already paid my deposit.... So I make my third revision.

Hope they can make it right this time and luckily I still have plenty of time to go.

One of the many things I hate about bridal shop or wedding shop is that they are very reluctant about giving softcopy. I dont know why, probably they afraid ppl use their masterpiece and claimed it as their own... or maybe, since the existance of Facebook, they take this advantage to make more money. Even the softcopy of my invitation card is being watermark. Anyhow, I will make sure I get the high resolution complete softcopy of this later, since I am the one who design most of it. The idea is mine, they only put it on their template so they can print it out.

Hopefully they are aware of it. Its give and take policy maa.... U give me softcopy, u can take my design and use for ur business purpose... if you ever want to use it lah... kami taulah muka kami ni teda nilai nilai komersil....

KL Marathon 2010

It's only 38 days from now and I don't know what the hell I am thinking at the moment.... I feel like to withdraw myself from the full marathon category and just re-register for the half marathon category. I think about the hot wheather, and many of my friends whom will take for the half category only. I was thinking, can I stand running under the hot sun? will I make it? dunno... but as at the time of writing, I am more comfortable to go for the half-marathon.

This is what I called, mood swing! Infact I just sent an email asking about any posibility of changing category. We will see what the reply would be by tomorrow.

There is one laundry shop located just over the road near the condo I am staying. I send my clothes there frequently and I am quite satisfied with their service so far. But what makes me irritated is, the old eyebrow-less woman is so damn like shit in terms of customer service. Just imagine the face is like asshole everytime I look at her. She never say a word through the whole transaction. Its like we already have understanding of what should be done which is,

1. I come, put my clothes on the table
2. She take it, put on weighing machine
3. She write the bill and ask me to sign
4. I pay money, take the receipt and leave.

Well, I dont mind for I am not interested to talk with her though. But, recently, and just recently she have a thought that she is a beautiful queen. Instead of doing item no 2 above, she expect me to do it myself. I was so pissed off when she pretended like nothing happened and just left the clothes on the table, expect me to put it on my own.

I was ready to burst out and just wait for a right time to let my curse go. So I didnt do anything.... I know, without doing item no 2, she wont be able to write a bill. So, I just waited and do nothing. At last, she throw a black face at me (in fact her face is already like shit) and just drag the clothes to the weighing machine.

Haihh.... if not because of the location is near and service is quite ok... I wont go to this laundry anymore. I just hate to see her face every week. Never mind, I will keep on going there until I can I can find a reason to say my words for her. After that, I will go and find another laundry shop... hehehe

THE HECK

I woke up late today. It was 8.15am when I realized that I was still laying on my bed…. comfortably. But as usual, and I think it is my habit when it happened to be late to work….. I never rushed myself instead of preparing myself slowly and calmly. It always inside my mind that, once I late, how fast I rush myself, my attendance will still being recorded as ‘LATE’. They do not distinguish the time frame like 5 mins late, 10 mins late or so forth. So, why bother? Once late, embrace it and enjoy the ride.

I arrived at office like nobody business. Pretending that I just came back from meeting, sat on my table and switch on my computer, and straight away do my job like nothing happened. I am very good at pretending a.k.a ‘berlakon’. My colleague asked me….. “U got fever?” and I said… “No, I woke up late”.

I had been very busy lately. Lots of job coming at once, and require completion about the same due time. But, I learnt to control my stress. So, complete or not, I will walk out shortly after office hour is over. That is my principle.

I bought my September flight ticket to KK last 2 days. Actually I had seen it increasing day by day, week by week, from RM 400 something to RM 651 and lastly to RM700 something. I was so afraid that the price might climb up if I keep on delaying. And once I made my decision, the price already at RM748. So I delayed my flight to the next day, and managed to get a return ticket at RM651. So I bought it.

This evening I checked the Airasia.com website again, and I was very shocked, surprise and pissed off. The price for a return flight with exactly the same date and time to KK has dropped off by 40% from RM 651 to RM 385.

I was thinking what the TUUT is going around? What games are being played or what principles are being applied to decide the pricing? I thought the further you wait, the more expensive it will be. By logic, shouldn’t it be that way?

I think this people had learnt enough about consumer’s psychological behaviour. They know how people normally think and react and this is our fault for generously giving into their customer’s feedback survey. When most consumers including me have the same typical thoughts, the opposite will happen out of our expectation. Who will not be pissed off when such situation happens?

Then I thought about my December’s flight ticket which I bought about a month ago. I check the same route, same date and same time…… and again and again…. I am totally speechless!! The price has gone down by 11% from RM 319 to RM283.

So in the end, I lose about 30% out of RM 900++ due to my smart ass. This is a good example out of this case that, when buying ticket from Airasia.com, I should not plan in advance, especially when the hot promotions are being released.

Attitude

It’s has been a month since I started to work in the new company. My job is very simple. First, I need to do the Work Instruction as guidance for the operators to do their jobs and to prepare the Bill of Labor for quotation purpose. This job is not difficult to do, but it can be a tedious job as it requires a lot of details to be taken care of.

After the first month, I get to know that my boss, is a new comers as well. He is a nice guy and I am glad to work under his supervision. By the way, some people with bad attitudes also colours my one month life here. What do I mean with bad attitude here? Well, I meant exactly those people who are too afraid to share their knowledge and giving looking angry face whenever I asked them about something.

If they read this, and if they think they are the one whom I meant to, please do not confront me as you will be only getting harsh words from me. Instead, I suggest you to do a HANSEI or self-reflection on why you behaving in such a bad manner.

No offence to anyone please!! I have the right to write anything in my own personal blog.

The SDC

I get a glimpse on TV about news on the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC). There was some familiar a.k.a LIAR faces popping on the screen talking craps about ensuring the implementation of the project to be as smooth as possible, for the fact that they cared for the people of Sabah. Oh really? The leaders there are just care for themselves, their families and their survival. They do not care about us.

I believe the SDC itself is politically motivated as we all know it was launched when the GE was just around the corner. Oooo, the government must be very concern for the people of Sabah, after so long digging the wealth of this rich state and give nothing significant in return. Well, they keep on telling stories about improving this, that and so forth, but are those mentioned are what we really want?

If you see the points stated in the SDC plan, of course it looks lucrative. The plan takes about 25 years to be realized in which to make Sabah as a most liveable place in Asia. SDC's key economic drivers are services which includes tourism and logistics, agriculture and manufacturing. I am not against the principles of SDC, but by right they should have done this long long time before if they have brain to think.

Now, because of their stupidity, many Sabahan professionals are in doubt in deciding whether they should go back to their hometown or not due to lack or no job at all which suits their capacity. Well, some might not mind at all, but I believe majority of them want to work closer at home and their loved ones.

So, all of us Sabahan must be always suspicious, critical and cynical about whatever being promised to us, especially from the government, the in-efficient government. We must watch them and ensure they do their job properly. We must voice out our opinion the way RPK did. If they intend to charge us on whatever Act, we run and hide inside the jungle.

The Smell

Yesterday I received call from my HR saying that my termination notice should be 2 months and not 1 month as stated in my apointment letter. I was reluctant to accept that by saying HOW COME??

She said, last increment they made it clear and if i am not to agree with it, they will have to retain back all my increment which means deducting my salary out of it. I asked them to show me the evidence. I said, i will based on my letter of appointment's contract. In the end, she said she will reply me back.

I do not know if she was just joking, but i need to prepare myself for the unexpected. Back home, i searched for watever increment notice that i received, and indeed there is no such statement regarding the notice period. I tried to recall, because if i am not mistaken, they changed the notice period, but for only new employees who start working in 2006.

I do not know, why only this time they make this an issue. Anyhow, i cannot say further until i receive their official reply on this matter. As a precaution, I am doing my homework to identify my rights as an employee according to the Malaysia Employment Act 1955.

So far i had drafted my reply, and will attack back if my rights is being denied. As for now, we can only wait and see. Hopefully things will get as less problematic as it suppose to be.

Lupa Diri

Sekian harap maklum.
