A day trip to SG

At 4am yesterday, we (my roomate and I) drove our way to Singapore. Reached JB check point around 8am, and drove along the causeway towards SG check point. After filling up the 'white card' we went to the VEP/Autopass counter for car registration and obtained the autopass card.

The registration was quite smooth, as it took less that 30mins for the whole process. After that, we continue our journey to this strange island. We have no idea where to go. Luckily I have my GPS with me. The traffic light system was confusing. But we managed to get through that even with so many illegal turning.

I made 5 appointments for the room viewing, but have shortlisted 2 of them as my top priority. At 10 am, we went to the first HDB unit. The HDB unit have 5 rooms in which 2 are empty.  The owner is a mid-aged lady whose husband is a Caucasian. She was nice and friendly. She did most of the talking, explaining about the background of the existing tenants, and everything about the whole units. I hardly ask questions.

She have 2 rooms available. One single room to be rented at SGD 500, and another much bigger room at the rate of SGD700. Both fully furnished, complete with aircon, 2 wardrobes, writing table and a TV set. The only thing that I have to provide on my own is  internet.

The environment is quiet, as other tenants are not in the house most of the time.  Even though I like the bigger room and satisfied with the overall condition and environment, I decided to hold on first as I would like to see what other rooms look like.

I proceeded to the second unit. This unit is a new HDB. The owner is a China Guy (PR). The room is new, fully furnished as well with writing table, a wardrobe and the bed set is impressive. Room size is a bit smaller compare to the first one. The living room was damn big. Its 3-4 times bigger compare to the latter. Anyhow, he is  renting out at SGD 800/mth. As I still wana view another units, I hold on and promise to get back

It would be very difficult for me to choose, if both room offered the same rent rate. Honestly, I would prefer the second unit in terms of design and style. Some more, it located closer to the MRT station. Anyhow in terms of overall convenience, I would prefer the first unit.

I still have 3 units to go, but I was kinda tired and I feel that I already found what I really want. Soon after that, one of the agent called to inform me that his unit have already taken out. I checked on my list. Two more left; which is another agent and a guy living with his mother.

I decided to cancel my appointment with the agent to avoid paying the agent fee. Some more, he is not that attentive during the whole process. Maybe he got a lot more potential tenants who is willing to pay with higher rate. So I dropped him from my list. I got one to go. I tried to recall how this person suppose to be like. I tried to use my 'sixth sense' to get the overall picture of his unit and the environment as well :).... Then, I remembered the day before... during a phone call with him. I heard his mom shouting out of somewhere. Then he talked about ghost festival which made me uncomfortable.

So, I concluded, I should drop this option because:

1. It gonna be noisy. The mom must be very strict and there are many restrictions to follow
2. I might be not comfortable with some of the traditional practices.

Did I purposely creating this excuses? Well, I leave it to all readers to decide.

I returned to the first unit, told the mid-aged lady that I choose to rent her room. I paid the deposit immediately, get the receipt and closed the deal. I didn't expect it and a bit surprised when the owner told me to list out items that I would like them to buy for the room. It seems that everything is there... what more i need?

They said, I need to tell them what kind of mattress I would like to have? soft? with spring? firm type? In other words, they will provide everything new including the bed frame. They asked me to discuss with my fiancee about our preferences as they believe she will have more preferences than me. I was kinda surprised, they pay attention in such details. but, its a good thing by the way.

We managed to drive around the city after the viewings. Earlier we plan to stay overnight in a cheap hotel. But, we cannot find a parking... or probably there were parking but we did not know how to find it. We decided to go back to KL the very same day. This is my third time having a day return trip to Singapore... and the most tiring one.

I am going home...

Yesss... Today is the day! I am going back to my lovely hometown. I am packing my stuff now. Will catch my flight in the afternoon. I feel happy and relieved. I am happy because I can go for a long holiday, enjoy the foods and meeting with my frens n family. It will be a wonderful time over there. I relieved because I am getting better from the Flu. I can't wait to see my fiancee too.

My post will be very short today as I need more time to pack up my things... hahaha. One thing for sure, I will be enjoying lots and lots of beers as I have several events to attend. Wedding events for sure, and some outings as well. So, who cares.... I am not working anyway :)

One nice facts I read from the magazine (Menhealth). We always think that beer gives us belly. But the fact is:

1. When  we drink alcohol, liver stop using fatty acids for  fuel and switches to using alcohol instead.
2. So, it leaves the fatty acids it should have been using to be stored in adipose tissue.
3. Eventually, beer belly is formed.

Thank you, and have a great day! (THE END)

Embrace The Moment

During my 'retreat' in KL, I found this wonderful Quote:

"Embrace the present,
For the past reflects
the life you lived,
and tomorrow reflects
the life you've promised;
but today is here and now
to cherish for the moment"

I like this quote very much, and will always remind myself to live with it.

I have been in KL since last Thursday as my friend offered me a ride. So, why not?
Met with my e-housemates, went to my fav. shopping complex, sleep on my comfortable bed, enjoying foods etc. Its awesome to be here once a while.

I was in the 1Utama MPH reading books while enjoying the outside view. It was raining heavily during that time, but the view was so calming.

And last but not least, this is my favorite view from outside of my window, a view to enjoys each and every time i sit on my computer table.

I will be going back to Penang later afternoon.....

The Weekend

Hi my dear friends wherever you are. I had been in silence for the past 2 weeks if I am not mistaken. As usual, I were not in mood of writing and had very less time to think what the topic should be.

Last weekend, I was in KL for a ‘reunion’ with my sis, bro and dad. We had a great time and I just don’t want it to end too soon. We went shopping, eating, and sightseeing. Actually the main reason they are there is to attend my elder sister convocation which is held today.

We have fun, even though we had to use the face mask most of the time, especially in the crowded area. We do not want to take a risk of the current outbreak H1N1. I was once being ignorant too. But, seeing how serious they were to prevent any possibilities of infection, plus my girlfriend stern advice, I got worried and wore one too.

So, from now on, I promise to wear a face mask whenever I go to public places like shopping complex. I hope all of you out there do not take this matter lightly as prevention is better than cure. Hopefully face mask and hand sanitizer prices will not simply going up unreasonably.

Let us stand together to fight H1N1.

Do I look like a student? Yess, I do. Hehehe… I will post more pictures during the convocation day once I get it from my sister or brother. As for this moment, please enjoy the picture above.

While waiting for boarding at KLIA, I managed to take a picture of the aircraft. I am a huge fan of airplane but I don’t know why I did not enrol in Aeronautical Engineering School last time.

Then in a sudden, there were this little boy keep looking at me and giggling. He even went close and touched my leg. The mom did not realised this probably because she is looking at the plane as well. He even looked at me when I took his picture.

I wonder why this little child so excited. Do I look funny when I put my mask on? I took my own picture immediately.

I indeed looked funny.

I watch "Confession of a Shopaholic"

Yesterday I went to KLCC. I got free TGV coupon and I think why not? I kan dah ‘bujang’ balik….. hehehe. I observed my surrounding like a stranger. I suspect that this might due to excess exposure of the wall inside my office.

I parked my car at Taman Jaya LRT station. I was surprise to know that the parking fee have increased from RM 3 to RM 4. If I used the MBPJ parking, it will only cost RM 0.6/hr.

I guess people making a lot of money with parking business. It’s an easy business I think. If you get the right location, you do not need to worry whether it can sell or not. How much of money you can get in a month if every day the parking is full like this:???

Let’s say 200 cars per day with 26 working days in a month….. they can easily get 20.8K/ month. There is no major cost as no material, no machine, no depreciation etc. involved …. May be only small management or maintenance cost incur which contribution might not be significant. I don’t know. I just guess.

How much do you think they will get when this parking complex completed??

Back To KL

I had just arrived at my second home in PJ. I checked on my car, which I had left for about 2 weeks. A bit dusty, but it seems fine. Got a big task for him tomorrow. After that, I arranged my stuff, and straight away go online. Here I am now, in front of my laptop, writing this post.

I look outside my window….. This is what I see (U see what I see).

I am a bit relieved since tomorrow is not a working day. I think I need to adapt before really going to work. I could not explain my feeling right now. It’s better to be at home. I turn on a music which reminds me my recent trip to Ranau.

What I gonna do now? Oh, I almost forgot that I haven’t completed my report yet. Fuck that report. I think I need to call my friend later. He is back from KK by today too. Probably we can exchange story. I think I still in a mood of celebration.

A Lone Ranger Trip

First of All, I would like to take this chance to say Happy New Year to everybody. Guess all of you have great holidays and are well prepared to come back to work next week. I am not looking forward to go to work anyway.

I guess the first day of New Year was not a good start for me to have this kind of ‘feel good’ feeling. Though most of the previous days I really enjoy many things, but when life full of thrill suddenly change to nothing to do, it feels like the world has stop turning.

So due to great boredom (yesterday), I decided to go to Ranau. That was a sudden decision anyway, as earlier I only planned to drive around and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful scenery along the road. Anyway, after a series of SMSes with my friend, Carl, I decided to go to his place in Ranau. He promised to bring me around (Earlier he said mandi air panas Poring). Whatever it is, as long as I can kill this boredom, it doesn’t matter.

So, I left around 5:00 pm, in a broad day light. You can see the mountain Kinabalu at the back. I light up my cigarette and enjoyed the smoke.

Start going uphill.

Sunset1 gradually take place

Hutan Rimba yg Anggun

An old lady carrying a 'wakid' at her back. Almost hit her as my eyes stick on my camera screen.

At this level, the air is cool.

Beautiful Sunset2.

In a sudden, everything started to change. Everywhere getting dark & darker. It was just 5:30 pm i think. A deep fog is coming.

It's not a big deal. I still can see.

But, suddenly it seems that the fog is getting thicker ahead.

I kept going. Temperature getting lower. I was shivering eventhough i didn't put the A/C on.

I told myself..... "It's getting worse"

I put my lights on..... I can hardly see the car infront of me.

And this is the worst. But, I continued driving.

That's it.....

Ni gambar sampingan.
Arrived at Ranau town around 6:30pm. My friend came to fetch me shortly, and he drove off to his house while deciding what to do next. I suggested going to Poring Hot Spring directly and have something to eat there and drink whiskey in the hot water. He said the food there is not that nice and less variety. He suggested going Kundasang since the foods are better and as he tried to group some friends to visit the nearby club. We were suggesting an opposite direction to go!!

As we stopped at the intersection to make a final decision, finally I agree with his plan. But in the end, we only had dinner as I didn’t bring extra clothing for clubbing. After all, makan is the most imortant thing and to be prioritize. Nothing can justify the need of eating.

After dinner, a thing which was never in our planning came. And that how we spend the rest of the night. I never played before, but i got 'on the job training' from the PRO, and straight away gambling. I ended up losing RM3. Consider good for beginner.

Going Into The Reality.....

My flight supposed to be at 7:35am. Well after packed all my stuff, I went to sleep at 2:00am. Suddenly my phone rang; it was my twin who called. He said “Where are you?” I look at the clock, and God! It’s already 6:00a.m. I don’t want to scare him. I just said, I am going to leave soon. He said “What??” I said, it’s still early. I am going to make it.

I rushed to the bathroom, took my shower, check my list and pack everything left. I left my house exactly at 6:30am and asked my friend to drive me to the airport. Forced him to speed until 160km/hr as I assured him I will pay if happen to be any summon. I tell the truth to my twins, and told him that I am going to catch another flight if I missed the schedule one. Don’t tell mom.

I arrived at 7:03am at LCCT, rush to the check in counter, and luckily I AM VERY LUCKY. I managed to check in as the counter has not closed yet. Fuhh….

I arrived at Labuan Airport on the 20th Dec 2008 around 10:07 am. It’s a new airport anyway, and the weather was great. I checked on my new hair cut, to ensure it still intact. I cut my hair short, really short until u can see my balding shape.

I went shopping with my mom and aunties. My mom bought 5 litres of wine. My sister bought a lot of chocolates and a whiskey. My aunt bought a Chivas, Wine and chocolates. I bought nothing. Beers? Just don’t feel like buying anything.

My very first visit to Labuan. The purpose was to attend my brother’s wedding party, as they called it “Shower Party”. Everything was great, the food, people, environment, meeting family and friends. I notice the night life was happening too. About 400 peoples attended the party. The presentation and slides show was very entertaining. The couple also seems very happy.

I saw my mom looking at me with a kind of look. I know that look. But I don’t have the answer.

It was a nice day even though a tiring one, and probably will post some picture here later.

I Concur

I sensed something, and through my sixth sense, it confirmed to be true. People change anyway, that’s why we need to be wise. Social life, improved. Get to know more people. Why? Have a better social life, replenishment and being secure. New opportunity came in today. Will explain more when the time is right.

The last 2 weeks, was an intense time for me. Calculating the risk and think on how to go about doing it. Sigh….. It’s difficult, but not impossible to do. Middle of December will shed some light, which will show some direction whether The 14 Jan Plan will happen or not. I just have to wait n see.

Hello everybody. I had abandoned my blog for such a long time. Not because I had nothing to say but, not in the mood of writing I guess. Yesterday my boss told us that retrenchment would not be a case in our company. Thanks to that. And he mentioned about this year bonus too.

From what I can understand, this year bonus will be slightly higher compare to last year as he was saying that it is the company policy to give in that manner. I am quite happy to hear that, but who knows? I don’t want to put too much hope, but hopefully it will become true.

And when it’s about 2 more weeks before I go back home, I start to feel that I am going to fall sick again. The very same sickness that I will have each time I go back to my hometown. This is very predictable and I don’t know how to explain this phenomenon. I hate being sick when it suppose the time to enjoy. I really hope this time, it will not make a ‘scene’. Some more, I have an important role to play this month. Please pray for me, as I started to take vit. C last Monday.

A Day

Yesterday I watched this movie at CATHAY CINEPLEXES-KOTA KINABALU. It's a nice movie for me..... I like the storyline and the thrills and the actions..... Apart from that, the hall's temperature was within my comfort level.

By the way, I think the sound system is not as good as the GSC 1 Utama and GSC Pavilion. I've been there many times, so i can tell the difference. Another thing is about the seat. It's shorter where you only can lean your back, cannot lean ur neck and head, incase you want to sleep if the movie turns out to be boring.

Anyway, CATHAY CINEPLEXES-CINELEISURE DAMANSARA, PETALING JAYA, is awesome for me, not others. Probably I should try GSC 1 Borneo to see how it's look like.

I just hope this movie will make my day on the 6th/9 of my holiday. Is it the 6th already??!!! What an envious time. I don't wana go back there!!.

This is my humble house. Inside the jungle. Another panoramic view.... I like panoramic view.

I would like to introduce to all of you, Mr Bintik, a very faithful dog. He never forgotton me, and treated me like a stranger eventhough i only back home once in a 5 months. Thanks God, my look never change since 7 years ago.
As relax as he seems to be in the picture, you should be very careful of him. He bites!!
Last but not least (Betul ka ni?), My sickness getting worse. I really can feel it right now, is's getting worst!!. Why now? Why not in KL? so that i can take M/C. I would like to tell this FLU, that i still have a full leaves for M/C. Please attack me during a time I am eligble to apply for a M/C. Not now!!
So, i came to see the doctor, and see what she gave me. Anyway, my main purpose is not promoting any clinic. When i walked around into looking for a clinic, that was the first clinic i saw, and i hope the medicines they gave me can restore my health back. After that only i can give due credit. hehe.
